The Okanagan Hockey School and Academy Europe were founded in 2008 as a subsidiary of Okanagan Hockey School in Penticton, BC, Canada., the oldest and biggest Hockey School in the world, providing hockey instruction since 1963.
Located in St. Pölten near Vienna, Austria, Okanagan Hockey School Europe provides Spring and Summer Hockey camps and a year round Academy program that combines an international education with athletics at the highest level. With its club - the "Lower Austria Stars" - the academy participates in the Austrian National Championship (U-15, U-17, U-20) and numerous tournaments and exhibition games in Europe and North America. In its third year of operation, the academy currently has 66 players in 3 teams. Its capacity is planned to grow to about 90 players and 4 teams until fall 2012.
In addition Okanagan Hockey School Europe is offering Hockey Camps in Kitzbühel, Austria as well as in two UK locations, Swindon and Nottingham. Swindon will serve as the new home of all Okanagan Hockey School UK operations.
