L.A. Stars/48er Tigers under 15 team captured the Austrian Championship in the St. Pölten Eishalle on Friday night in front of thier family and friends. The Stars had to face EHC Lustenau in their last game of the season but due to a Klagenfurt loss in Innsbruck last weekend this game was a mere formality before the award ceremony on the ice afterwards. In its first season in the league the under 15 combination of Okanagan Hockey Academy Europe's Lower Austria Stars and the 48er Tigers Hockey Club played a much lager role than anticipated and deserved to be crowned Austrian Champions.

"I am very proud of all our players. They have come a long way from the start of the season and showed that they not only deserved to win the league but did it in an impressive fashion. It is extremely satisfying to watch these young player learn the game and steadily improve and that is what its all about. Winning is great but winning with respect is even better and they have earned the respect of the rest of the league." spoke a very happy coach Vorlicek after the game, which by the way the Stars won 8 - 1.
