From: Bob Nicholson, President Hockey Canada Re: Okanagan Hockey School Europe Date: July 28, 2008
Hockey Canada would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Austrian Ice Hockey Federation and the Lower Austrian Government for entering into an agreement that will bring to them the world leaders in Hockey Academies and Hockey Schools.
Okanagan Hockey School has operated for 45 consecutive years in Canada and has established itself as one of the top hockey school programs which is supported by all the different NHL players, executives and coaches that attend each year.
Eight years ago Okanagan Hockey Academy was started by Okanagan Hockey School and over that time period has established itself as one of the leading edge academies in our country. Over the eight years OHA has proven to contribute to the Hockey Canada family in a positive and productive manner.
The partnership established in Lower Austria has the potential to grow into a world class hockey training center that could be attended by players from all over the world.
We wish the entity the Best of Luck and look forward to a continued partnership with Okanagan Hockey School in the future.
Best Regards,

Bob Nicholson

Chuck Kobasew - Boston Bruins
|

Growing up in the Okanagan afforded me many opportunities for summer hockey development. I spent countless hours throughout my childhood attending the Okanagan hockey school. It was an experience that I looked forward to every summer.
From learning the basic skills to meeting my NHL heroes, the Okanagan Hockey School allowed me to foster a passion for the game of hockey that allowed me to live my dreams in the NHL.
Nowhere else did I learn more about developing as a young hockey player through the professional instruction and guidance from the enthusiastic instructors. OHS taught me that first you must love the game of hockey, and if you do, anything is possible through hard work and dedication.
I, like many other NHL players, will send my kids to the Okanagan Hockey School. I hope to see you all there again next year.
Have a great Summer!

Now, more than ever, elite amateur and professional hockey teams are looking to academy programs for recruitment of players. Overall character development and maturity are the main factors in this trend.

Daniel Moriarty - Harvard Crimson

The staff of the Okanagan Hockey School and Hockey Academy were dedicated to helping me prepare myself for my career after junior hockey.
With their guidance in the classroom and on the ice, I was able to obtain a commitment to attend one of the most highly respected universities in the world, Harvard.
To reach a goal like this, I had a lot of help from our coaches on the ice, and from our teaching staff in the classroom.

| Derek MacKinnon - Dallas Stars |

The combination of elite hockey development and focused academic achievement is what makes the Hockey Academy system the first choice of serious student athletes. Academies offer opportunities in overall growth and development of young men and women that can't be found in the public system.
