U15 Stars finnish First in the East
The U15 Stars played their final contest of the first round of the Eastern Section of the Austrian U15 Championships and won easily, overpowering the last place WEV Ice Lions 17 - 1.
In a slow start with only four goals in the first period it looked like both teams were taking it easy. The stars upped the pace in the second and third and managed to score 13 more times before the final buzzer.
The sorers on the day were, Daniil Ovchinnikov with (2 goals, 5 assists), Max Paczkowski (2 and 5) , Paul Hockmann (3 and 2), Sebastian Habernig (2 ans 3), Christoph Kitzenegger (2 and 1), Ali Houben (2 and 1), Paul Koudleka (1 and 2), Marcel Hack (1 and 1), Simon Wolf (1 and 1), Jan Blüml with 2 assists, Lukas Wilding with 2 assists and Pauli Sztatecsny with a goal.
Coaches Comments:
As always it is very difficult to get up for games like these but the team played together, look for one another and came up with some beautiful goals. It is easy to get into bad habits in these games but all in all we were happy with the effort and will wait to see who the opponents will be in the next round. We will need to be ready for every game as all the teams are good and we can expect stiff competition along the way. We played hard to get into this top round, so we will take advantage of the level and try to improve all the way through to the playoffs when it realy counts. We wish all the boys and their families a Merry Christmas and look forward to see everyone for the next game where ever it may be!
